How many times I have done this one? When you’ve not got much time, it’s easy to fit this in. Somehow I think this works best anti-clockwise, regardless of wind direction, but try it the other way…

We head out through Letcombe Basset, then up and over Sincome Hill before heading down the ‘Valley of the Racehourse’ to Lambourn via Sheepdrove. then it’s west to Great Shefford through the villages along the river Lambourn. For the return leg, we detour off the A338 for a few miles, as the roads are a lot quieter, and we get a few extra climbs thrown in for free. The whoosh down Court Hill back to the Letcombe Regis is a nice reward at the end.
